Llama Trek!
 Join us on an overnite adventure on the slopes of Mauna Loa! Our excursion departs shortly after breakfast (about 8:30am) as we gather our gear and load up the Llamas and head for the road up the slopes to Mauna Loa. We come to an abrupt stop where the road comes to an end; unload the Llamas, and the rest of the crew, and off we go for a climb of about 9,000 feet. The climb is quite steady, over lava, gravel and through the rainforest, but is simplified with the Llamas carrying all of our gear! After all, you are on vacation! We soon make camp, have a wonderful dinner and cannot wait to get that much needed 'outdoor' fresh air and a snooze! The stars on a clear nite will absolutely mesmerize your senses! As too, will the tranquility and quietness of your new surroundings for the evening. Choose to sleep in or quite the opposite, take in a magnificent sunrise and enjoy the beginning of another day in paradise! After a delicious breakfast you may enjoy a hike around the base of the crater and par-take in numerous photographic opportunities. The Llamas are meanwhile packed and ready to descend on our journey down the mountain. We arrive at our vehicles shortly before dusk. At this time you are free to go about your next adventure, enjoy a marvelous dinner at one of the elite restaurants in Volcano Village, or return to your accommodation to contemplate your most recent escapade! Price per person $100 (includes transportation, meals, and all required and necessary gear!). |
